The idea of filming these pieces originated when Paul attended the 2007 One Act Festival Winners reception. After being highly impressed by the quality of the award winners on show he began to discuss with LOST the possibility of filming and streaming a series of short pieces. One of Paul’s main drivers behind this project was the ability to use LOST as a conduit to young writing talent, as this connection is notably absent in the world of film & tv.

LOST hopes to continue this wonderful working relationship with Paul, Robert & Steve and looks forward to producing many more pieces from past & future Festivals.

The shorts we filmed were:

Girl Problem 1’ Written by Julian England & performed by Stacey Lamb.

Girl Problem 2’ Written by Julian England & performed by Laura Forbes.

Girl Problem 4’ Written by Julian England & performed by Kate Bishop

These 3 pieces originate from a 4 part sketch that was performed as part of ‘The Oxyrhynchus Show’ at the 2007 One Act Festival. These sketches, which deal with everyday teenage problems in a comical fashion, were chosen as the stood out as ingenious short monologues, ideally suited to internet streaming. For those of you wondering, part 3 was not filmed as it is only performable for the stage.

Brief as Woman’s Love.’ Written & performed by Darren Munn and directed by Adrian Brown.

This touching piece about the past decisions and future choices of Jack and his outrageous alter-ego Jaqueline, was originally written as part of Darren’s final year at the East 15 Acting School. He then went on to perform it at the 2006 One Act Festival where he was awarded the Outstanding Performance Award.
